There is much confusion about whether copying recordings is legal or not, please read below for clarification of some of these issues.

Treasured family recordings preserved in digital format

Copying commercial recordings is only permissible under the following conditions:

1. You own the material that you copy.
2. Copies are made for the purposes of private listening.
3. You should not copy the CD other than for archive purposes for yourself.
4. You should not resell or broadcast the recording.
5. You must retain the original material to retain the rights to use the copy (ie. you should not sell the original material whilst retaining the copy.

For personal recordings, you may do as you please. Where home recordings are sent, we will assume that the sender owns the copyright.

Where a commercial recording is copied under the above conditions, please note that only one copy should be made.

LiVEWYRE Studio will not be held responsible for the mis-use of the recordings once they have been delivered. It is the holder's responsibility to ensure that the recording is used within the law.

We do not retain copies of your recorded material after we are confident that you have received your recordings unless you specifically request our archive service.

LiVEWYRE Studio aims to comply fully with copyright laws, and will only (knowingly) operate within the constraints of existing copyright law.
